Finding the workflows worth automating first

Innospikes Team ·

Every operations team has a list of tasks they would like to automate. The hard part is deciding where to start.

We score each workflow on three things: how many hours it takes each month, how structured the inputs are, and how costly a mistake would be.

High hours, structured inputs and low risk come first. Invoice matching and weekly reporting are common examples. Work with high risk stays human-reviewed, with automation preparing the case.

Starting with one well-chosen workflow builds trust and gives the team a pattern they can reuse for the rest of the list.
